"This represents a significant step in the rapid evolution of CQ.com On Congress,' stated Robert W. Merry, CQ president and publisher, in announcing the agreement with Congressional Green Sheets founders Linda Cartwright and John Dineen. "Green Sheets is the publication of record in these areas, and its content is a perfect fit with our current mix of news, analysis and legislative documents on CQ.com.'

Merry added that CQ and Congressional Green Sheets may also team up on new projects that combine their respective staffs' expertise on Congress and environmental and energy policy. "We look forward to future new content offerings in partnership with Green Sheets,' he said.

Congressional Green Sheets will use the CQ.com platform to broaden its market reach. "The ability to leverage CQ's outstanding sales force and reach new markets is an exciting prospect,' stated Linda Cartwright, president and founder of Congressional Green Sheets. "In addition, the features and functionality available on CQ.com on Congress such as Custom Alerts will make our information more valuable than ever to our readers.'

Congressional Green Sheets' coverage of environment, energy and natural resource issues includes the Weekly Bulletin, a complete rundown on the week ahead in Congress with every hearing, markup and bill headed to the floor; Newsroom, a first-thing-in-the-morning look at developments across the country and around the world; Green Sheets Express, a daily update on events in Congress previewed in the Weekly Bulletin and other news developments; Floor Briefs, with the latest word on major legislation headed to the floor; and Special Reports on major public policy issues.

The Congressional Green Sheets service will be available to subscribers of CQ.com On Congress when Congress reconvenes in January 2002.
