Mitsubishi Electric HVAC Introduces North America's First Multi-Split Heat Pump System
LAWRENCEVILLE, GEORGIA, Jul. 9 -/E-Wire/-- Mitsubishi Electric HVAC, a recognized leader in advanced heating and air conditioning products, has introduced a new multi-split heat pump system that provides more than 30,000 BTU/h of cooling and heating for up to three zones using a single outdoor condenser.

The MXZ30TN features Mitsubishi Electric's inverter technology, ensuring years of efficient, quiet operation. The system allows for two to three indoor units to be connected to the single outdoor unit in up to seven different combinations.

From a single MSH17TN model, when combined with the MXZ30TN condensing unit, owners can achieve up to 23,550 BTU/h maximum heating performance. Each indoor unit can be independently operated by wireless remote controllers.

"For years, contractors, homeowners and business owners have been asking us for a multi-evaporator heat pump,' said Craig Little, Mitsubishi Electric HVAC vice president of sales and marketing.

"We're proud to be able to deliver a system that offers plenty of flexibility, is energy-efficient and is quiet inside and outdoors. Our inverter technology will not only keep the home or office more comfortable by matching the unit's capacity to the demand, it will also help keep electricity bills down. When the system is not running at full capacity, it is saving money.'

The MXZ30TN system brings the advantages of industrial-sized equipment to much smaller applications, allowing typical consumers to benefit from this advanced technology. Combining Mitsubishi Electric's innovative inverter technology and sensitive temperature fluctuation detection capabilities, the MXZ30TN offers exceptional air conditioning performance.

The system allows a very liberal amount of piping -- up to 190 feet total line one direction -- with the most distant unit being 80 feet from the outdoor condenser. To help ensure that the installation goes in without problems, the unit is pre-charged with refrigerant for the maximum line-set. Thus, there is no need to remove refrigerant even when short line-sets are installed.

"By precisely controlling compressor rotation speed, the inverter technology provides high-speed cooling and heating while reducing power consumption,' explained Little.

"Imagine if your car did not have a variable speed engine and all you could do is go 'full speed' or 'no speed.' This is how a typical air conditioning system operates. When the room gets too warm, the compressor comes on at full speed, cools the room and then stops. The room then quickly warms up again and the process repeats. If you were to look at a graph of the actual room temperature during these periods, you would see sharp peaks and valleys, like a saw blade.

"Using variable speed inverter technology, the room condition is far more stable. When the room warms up, the compressor speed increases proportionally. Then, as the room approaches the desired settemperature, the compressor begins to slow down, so its capacity matches the actual heat load of the room. As a result, cool air is appropriately delivered to the room in the same quantity that heat is generated.

"This means that compressor wattage is greatly reduced and temperature fluctuation is eliminated. Now if you were to graph the room temperature on a chart, you would see a nearly flat line of accurate room temperature and the elimination of warm periods and cold drafts.'

The MXZ30TN system is available immediately through authorized Mitsubishi Electric HVAC distributors and preferred dealers across North America.

Located in Lawrenceville, the HVAC division of Mitsubishi Electric & Electronics USA Inc., was established in 1984 to market state-of-the-art Mr. Slim(TM) split-ductless heating and air conditioning systems in North America. Since then, the division has expanded its market distribution range to include Latin America and the Caribbean. The company also markets and distributes PlasmaPure(TM) air purifiers.
