ENVIRON Announces Strategic Senior Hires in North America

Manny Dekermenjian.jpg Manuel "Manny" Dekermenjian, PhD, PE, joins the firm as a Principal in the Los Angeles, California, office. Manny has over 12 years of experience in engineering analysis of chemical processes, characterization of chemical releases, and investigation of thermal and combustion-related failures, including fires and explosions. He also performs sampling and evaluation of indoor air quality and atmospheric air pollution, including particulates, odors, smoke and carbon monoxide. Manny has evaluated consumer products, including appliances, air cleaners and electronics, and has expertise in the evaluation of the physical and chemical properties of substances. He has investigated incidents involving a variety of chemicals, including hydrogen sulfide, silane, sulfur dioxide, ammonia, carbon monoxide, nitrogen trifluoride, mercury, natural gas, LPG gas, liquid fuels, crude oil, solvents and acids and bases. Manny has conducted environmental chamber experiments, including analysis by infrared spectroscopy, and engineering analysis and experimental testing involving chemistry, heat transfer, thermodynamics and fluid dynamics. Bruce Dumdei.jpg A new Principal in ENVIRON's Chicago—Loop office, Bruce E. Dumdei, PhD, has over 30 years of experience in federal and state New Source Review (NSR/PSD) permitting for industrial and government facilities. His expertise includes current and developing federal and state regulatory air programs; Hazardous Air Pollutant (HAP) regulations; development of emissions inventories for criteria, air toxics, and greenhouse gas pollutants; greenhouse gas regulatory and voluntary programs, including emissions reporting and reduction methods; and source and ambient air monitoring programs for criteria and air toxics pollutants. James Fitzgerald.jpg A new Principal in ENVIRON's Boston (Groton) office, James D. Fitzgerald, PE, LSP, BCEE, has more than 25 years of environmental, health and safety consulting experience, primarily focusing on multinational, private-sector clients. Jim's project experience includes providing business-driven solutions to support large and small mergers and acquisitions, integration of management systems post-merger and acquisition, alignment of EHS management systems to support corporate governance models, design and compliance assessment of management systems, compliance assessments/audits to regulatory requirements, management of site investigations and remediations, preparation of facility (air, wastewater, hazardous waste) permits for new and expanded operations, and preparation of technical reports to support site development and permitting. John Shaw.jpg Jonathan Shaw, PG, a new Principal in south Florida,brings 30 years of experience in water resources throughout Florida and the southeastern United States. A licensed Professional Geologist in the State of Florida, he is a Certified Professional Geologist and a Certified Ground Water Professional. Jon has been involved in all aspects of water quality investigations, hydrogeologic and contamination assessments and remediation and providing supervision to hydrogeologists and engineers. He has managed several projects in support of Everglades' restoration, including aquifer storage and recovery (ASR), groundwater monitoring and assessment, and ecotoxicology of ASR water quality. His experience with contaminated sites includes RCRA facility investigations and corrective actions, CERCLA site assessments and remedial actions, assessment of consent order sites, due diligence assessments and investigations and remedial actions at petroleum and dry cleaner and industrial solvent-contaminated sites.
