TestAmerica's Dr. Mark Bruce Receives ITRC's Industry Recognition Award for 2009
FORT WASHINGTON, PENNSYLVANIA, Nov. 13 -/E-Wire/-- TestAmerica is pleased to announce that Dr. Mark Bruce, Technical Director and recognized industry expert, was recently honored with the 2009 Industry Recognition Award by the Interstate Technology & Regulatory Council (ITRC) for his outstanding contribution to Incremental Sampling Methodology. The award was given at the Fall Meeting in October 2009.

With Dr. Bruce's involvement, the ITRC's Incremental Sampling Methodology (ISM) Team was created in 2009 to develop guidance for the proper implementation of ISM in sample collection and laboratory processing in the industry. The key objective in incremental sampling is to improve the reliability and integrity of the data results from a few samples, minimizing errors in data variability and increasing sample representation against the entire concentration. The ISM Team is in the process of developing a formal ITRC technical guidance document, which will ensure accurate application of the methodology, correct common misconceptions, and address any regulatory issues as they arise.

Dr. Bruce has more than 27 years of analytical chemistry experience and serves as a technical expert in method development and modification projects for both organic and inorganic analyses, which include arsenic speciation, low-level mercury, vapor space organics, leaching, and methyl mercury. Dr. Bruce continues to provide his leadership in developing custom cleanup methods to address sample specific interferences. For more information or to submit an inquiry to Dr. Bruce, please contact him through TestAmerica's Ask the Expert webpage at www.testamericainc.com.
