AnnaLynne McCord of "90210" Sizzles On Cover of Salon City's Premiere Issue of Beauty Entertainment Magazine. |
BEVERLY HILLS, CALIFORNIA, Aug. 24 -/E-Wire/-- Salon City, Inc. (OTC: SALN) announced that TV actress, AnnaLynne McCord, who plays catty student Naomi Clark on The CW's popular show "90210", is the first Hollywood celebrity to grace the cover of the premiere issue of Beauty Entertainment Magazine. Called BE! for short, Beauty Entertainment is Salon City's newest print publication, and BE!'s on sale dates will coincide with 90210's TV season premiere, airing Tuesday, September 8th on The CW Network.
School is back in session in the world's most fabulous zip code, and things are richer, raunchier and more scandalous than ever in "90210." "90210" was last season's biggest hit on the CW, and AnnaLynne McCord is emerging as the shows break-out star. At 21, she has already been seen on "Ugly Betty, " "The O.C.", "Cold Case, " "CSI: Miami" as well as a slew of films: "The Haunting of Molly Hartley" with Chace Crawford, "Fired U' with Sarah Roehmer and Molly Sims, "Transporter 2" and the 2003 re-make of "Dawn of the Dead." Playing rich teen with issues Naomi Clark on the new "90210" promises to give her an entirely new level of recognition in Hollywood.
Salon City co-founders and BE! publishers, Steven and Annie Casciola, chose McCord for the cover because, "AnnaLynne has a unique, individual look and style that is synonymous with Hollywood's titillating, yet socially-conscious, young stars. It's a 'good girl-bad girl' persona she has to be able to balance in front of the media and fans. In AnnaLynne's case, she's being herself naturally; and that's what BE! is all about and what our targeted style-driven readers identify with."
McCord's exclusive BE! photo shoot in Los Angeles and was photographed by photographer, Angelina Venturella, another hot, new visual artist on the L.A. scene. Lynn Venturella, who produced the fashion shoot, assembled an A-list of Beautymakers who acted as the 'editorial posse' and captured McCord's striking beauty features; Makeup was done Chantal Moore ( Cloutier ) using Channel; Hair by Eric Sebbag ( Cloutier) using Sebbag Essential Oils; and Styling was done by Heidi Meek ( Cloutier ). The shoot was done in Los Angeles and featured fashion's hottest brand names including Felja, Nicole Miller, Sonya Ooten, Prima Dini, Missis, Swarovski, Gianna Melanna, BCBG and Ina Soltani.
In her interview with Salon City's Lynn Morgan, McCord admits, "Somehow, I always get cast as the mean girl," says AnnaLynne innocently. "I go in to read for the part of the nice girl and end up getting cast as the evil one instead."
Until now, AnnaLynne has probably been best known for her blistering work as "Eden Lord" on F/X's "Nip/Tuck". Appearing first as a potential patient at the McNamara/Troy plastic surgery clinic, seeking a consultation about having her hymen re-constructed, Eden then proceeded to blaze a path of destruction throughout Season 5 of the controversial series: the hyper-hormonal Lolita from hell attempted to seduce her saintly stepfather, then failing that, poisoned her mother with a fruitcake at Christmas. Eden permanently warps her 12-year-old stepsister by explaining the finer points of fellatio as a means to be popular with boys, and then the character took her final bow from the show by running away to become a porn star.
Her "90210" character is nowhere near as gleefully awful as Eden Lord. Described in the press materials as "the new Kelly" Naomi is beautiful, rich and troubled, but not actively evil. In fact, her character will display a more vulnerable side this season as Naomi copes with her parents' divorce and navigates her way through her romantic relationship with "Ethan Ward" (Dustin Milligan). No worries, though: there's still plenty of juicy drama to keep audiences up on school nights.
Other changes new and old '90210" fans can expect include stepping up the shows fashion game. "There are going to be a lot of changes," says AnnaLynne. "It's going to be a very different show this season, and it's going to have a very different look. We're being held up by the clothes; there's been a lot of debate and back and forth about costuming. Last year, we wore pretty much whatever-stuff from the mall, from Forever 21. This year, we're going to be wearing Dolce. Fashion and beauty are a big part of the shows image."
Steven Casciola noted similarities between the magazine and show, "Beauty Entertainment magazine and shows like 90210 speak to people who like to see personal style, beauty and entertainment – in action – and all in one package. It's a star's secret to commercial success and BE! – Hollywood's new voice for beauty, entertainment and salon people -- will be bringing their stories to life."
