Roux Launches Forensic Engineering Practice for Building Damage & Construction Defects
James Koester, P.E., joins Roux to head up practice
ISLANDIA, NEW YORK, Apr. 7 -/E-Wire/-- (Islandia, NY; April 7, 2009) Roux Associates Inc., an ENR 200 environmental consulting and management firm, is pleased to announce that it has launched a forensic engineering practice for building damage & construction defects.

James Koester, P.E., who joined the firm in March 2009 as a Principal Engineer, will head up the practice.

Koester will be based at the company's office in Burlington, MA.

Roux Associates has provided environmental claims and litigation expert witness and support services to its clients for the past 20 years.

"Our clients requested that we provide expertise in building damage and construction defects," said Paul H. Roux, Chairman. "With the addition of James Koester to our team, we will soon become an industry leader in providing these services."

Koester has provided engineering services for litigation support and building damage claims for eleven years.

Koester was an expert witness and project manager in over one thousand forensic investigations involving commercial, industrial, and residential facilities. He helped determine the scope of damage and cost repair estimates for a 24-story landmark building damaged in the 9/11 terrorist attacks. He was also involved in the investigation of a 30 building hospital complex damaged by Hurricane Katrina.

Koester has nearly 30 years of construction and engineering project management experience. He performed numerous structural evaluations to determine scopes of damage due to fires and explosions.

Koester, a licensed professional engineer, is a graduate of Lehigh University.
