GEO-SEAL(TM) VAPOR INTRUSION MANAGEMENT TECHNOLOGY RECOGNIZED AT TOP EUROPEAN ENVIRONMENTAL TECHNOLOGY EVENT
SAN CLEMENTE, CALIFORNIA, Nov. 17 -/E-Wire/-- Geo-Seal(TM), a highly effective gas vapor intrusion management technology developed by the Land Science Technologies (LST) division of Regenesis (San Clemente, CA), was named a finalist in the 2008 Environment and Energy Awards competition at Sustainabilitylive! in Birmingham, England, the U.K.'s largest and longest-running exhibition and networking event for the energy and renewables industries. The Environment and Energy Awards are sponsored by Enersol, a London-based corporation that provides a wide range of products, technologies and services to identify and address issues relating to improved energy efficiency, reduced fuel use and costs, and mitigation of climate change. The Innovation Award for Remediation Technology is presented in recognition of high-quality advancements that provide value at a cost-competitive price and have relevant environmental benefits.

Developed to protect indoor air quality by eliminating chemical gas vapor intrusion at brownfield redevelopment sites, Geo-Seal was one of five top contenders from around the world for the prestigious Remediation Technology Innovation Award, which showcases the best new technologies being developed to tackle contaminated land issues. Geo-Seal was nominated on the basis of its best-in-class performance with respect to chemical resistance, constructability, and cost-effectiveness on sites contaminated with petroleum products and/or chlorinated solvents.

In 2006 and 2007, LST's parent company Regenesis was honored with the ICU (International Clean Up) Innovation Award, predecessor of the Remediation Technology Innovation Award, for MRC(R) (Metals Remediation Compound), a controlled-release remediation product designed specifically for the treatment of hexavalent chromium in groundwater, and RegenOx(TM), a breakthrough in-situ chemical oxidation technology that safely destroys relatively high concentrations of recalcitrant soil and groundwater contaminants. For more information on Regenesis visit www.regenesis.com.

Land Science Technologies (LST) is dedicated to providing innovative and technically sound technologies for sustainable development of underutilized, environmentally impaired ("brownfield") properties. LST is a division of Regenesis, Inc., a global leader in groundwater and soil remediation technologies since 1994. For more information, visit www.landsciencetech.com or contact Mr. Peter Grant (pgrant@landsciencetech.com, 949-481-8118). A detailed brochure about the Geo-Seal(TM) advanced composite gas vapor management technology can be downloaded at the LST website: www.landsciencetech.com/_pdfs/LandScienceTech_Geo-Seal-Brochure.pdf

ewire modified.jpg Triple-layer Geo-SealTM system includes two chemical-resistant bonded HDPE layers enclosing an elastic, copolymer-modified asphaltic membrane core. The core is spray-applied, creating a highly effective seal around piping and other slab penetrations and eliminating the need for mechanical fastening at termination points.
