Optibike LLC wins at 9th Annual IQ Awards |
BOULDER, COLORADO, Aug. 18 -/E-Wire/--
The Boulder County Business Report sifted through over 60 Boulder based startups to find the best of the best in 10 different categories. Optibike LLC was recognized in the Sports Products and Services category as this years pioneer in innovation for bringing the Optibike high performance electric bike to the marketplace.
The Optibike has created an entirely new market segment merging transportation and fitness. The Optibike has all of the benefits of a bicycle and eliminates 2 of the main obstacles that keep people from cycling everywhere: lack of time and “the sweat factor.” With an Optibike, riders can travel 20-30 mph with as much pedaling as they feel like- eliminating sweat on the way into work and providing an opportunity for more exercise on the way home. Optibike riders have reported losing 37 lbs of fat in 6 months, saving $7,000 a year in vehicle costs and greatly improving their quality of life by reducing the amount of time spent trapped in their cars.

Nearly every other winner at the IQ awards recognized that it is the Boulder community that makes building a business here possible- Jim Turner took it a step further in saying, “A good company employs the people of the community in order to provide something back to the community that improves their lives. Optibike empowers people to lose weight, eliminate their need for gasoline, and reduce the amount of stress in their lives.”
The DaVinci Institute has also recognized Jim Turner in 2007 as “Inventor of the Year” for his revolutionary work with Optibike and for his positive impact on the world community.
