NEW YORK, NEW YORK, Mar. 31 -/E-Wire/--
"CORAL AND ICE: From the Ends of the Earth," an exhibition of photographs by Anne L. Doubilet opens today at Manhattan's prestigious National Arts Club.
The photographs juxtapose the bottom of the sea with the top of the Earth, creating a unique perspective on the world we live in, and on. The vibrancy of her photographs provides a rare peek through the lens of her camera at the marvels of nature. Ms.Doubilet is an underwater explorer, writer and photographer who has been on diving expeditions around the world, including Papua New Guinea, Palau, Japan, the Galapagos, the Red Sea, all around Australia's coasts, and the Caribbean.
Concerned about the vanishing corals and melting icebergs she has witnessed in the past 30 years, the world-known photographer is committed to promoting conservation and awareness of the devastating changes on our planet through her work. She is a member of the Women Divers Hall of Fame, The National Arts Club, and is a Fellow and Board Member of The Explorers Club. Ms Doubilet also serves on the Board of Directors of Wings Worldquest (www.wingsworldquest.org). Her work appears in various National Geographic Society publications and The Explorers Journal. She contributed an essay to the book, "Adventurous Dreams, Adventurous Lives" collected by Jason Schoonover and published by Rocky Mountain Books.
