As clear evidence of green technology importance – a greener AA Battery beat thousands of global companies to a top GOLD award at this year's prestigious iF Product Design Awards.

The USBCELL AA battery, invented by UK based Moixa Energy and designed by British Design duo - Simon Daniel & Chris Wright, yesterday took one of 50 prestigious iF Gold Product Design Awards against competition of 2771 entries from 35 countries at CeBIT. Referred to as a 'Design Oscar', it was awarded for best global designs of the year. Philips won 1 Gold and Apple took 8 awards.

Daniel added "15 billion batteries are made for portable and wireless devises and thrown away each year - equivalent to a column of batteries to the moon and back, wasting resources, C02 and landfill.
