With less than 24 hours until the polls open for Maryland's primary, the national, political group Ocean Champions is on the ground in the state's first congressional district mobilizing voters for incumbent Wayne Gilchrest. Rep. Gilchrest is one of the House's leading Republicans for the environment and ocean health. In the past three weeks, Ocean Champions raised more than $40,000 for an aggressive 'Get Out The Vote' campaign engaging more than 40,000 Republicans in communities along Maryland's Eastern Shore, Annapolis and Baltimore.

Ocean Champions, a long-time supporter of Rep. Gilchrest, knows how crucial this primary is, for Maryland and the Chesapeake Bay, and the nation's oceans at large. In this extremely close primary, Ocean Champions assigned a professional team to the district to identify and mobilize voters in support of Rep. Gilchrest and his record of ocean conservation.
