ENVIRON announces Steve Washburn as new C.E.O. |
|
ARLINGTON, VIRGINIA, Oct. 31 -/E-Wire/--
The Board of Directors of ENVIRON Holdings, Inc. (ENVIRON), announced today that the Preferred Stockholders of ENVIRON have elected Stephen T. Washburn to succeed Joseph H. Highland as C.E.O. and Chairman of the Board. The transition is effective immediately.

One of ENVIRON's original Founders, Highland has been C.E.O. since 1990. In making the announcement, the Board of Directors noted, "Joe's influence on this firm has been incalculable. He has worked tirelessly to sustain the original vision of building a firm that offers the best available scientists, engineers, and regulatory specialists to clients grappling with an evolving array of complex problems, while providing a vibrant, challenging work environment that enables professionals to work towards and expand the limits of their capabilities. ENVIRON's successful enduring partnership business model has been built upon the core principles that Joe has imprinted upon the firm. We owe much of our success to Joe's efforts to ensure that ENVIRON has remained aligned with this original vision throughout our evolution into a global consultancy." Highland will remain with the firm in an advisory capacity for an interim period.

Washburn, who has been with ENVIRON for much of its 25-year history, has served most recently as Managing Principal of the firm's Northern California operations and as a member of the Board of Directors. His colleagues on the Board commented that, "Steve epitomizes the qualities of professionalism, intellectual curiosity, and integrity that are at the heart of this firm." According to Highland, who recruited Washburn and worked with him on numerous client assignments and through the CEO transition process, "The firm could not have made a better choice.
