Eco Expo Asia - International Trade Fair on Environmental Protection
HONG KONG, HONG KONG, Sep. 22 -/E-Wire/-- Companies from Hong Kong and all over the world are due to exhibit at Eco Expo Asia, Hong Kong's first environmental protection trade fair. Organized by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council and Messe Frankfurt, Eco Expo Asia will take place from 27 - 30 October 2006 at AsiaWorld-Expo in Hong Kong. The show will be open to the public on 29 October.

The trade fair will have organizations exhibiting from countries and regions such as Australia, Canada, the Chinese mainland, Germany, Hong Kong, Israel, Italy, Japan, Macau, Korea, Malaysia, New Zealand, Poland, Singapore, Sweden, Thailand, Taiwan, the UK and the US.

Exhibits will consist of a wide range of products and services including: solar heating recycled stationery composting techniques biodegradable food packaging biochemical oil air purifiers waste water treatments solid waste solutions etc.

Exhibitors from Hong Kong include the Environmental Protection Department (EPD). The department, through display, 3-D interactive activities and seminars, will show the business trade and the public their current works and future plans for developing a sustainable environment. Special emphasis at the trade fair will be placed on the EcoPark that is scheduled for leasing at end 2006 and the Compliance Assistance Centre, which will be commissioned 20 September 2006.

Eco Expo Asia will be divided into three main areas: Green World, Green Enterprise and Green Living. These areas will concentrate on environmental systems and technologies, environmentally friendly systems and products for business operations and eco-friendly consumer products and services. Air pollution solutions, recycling technology and organic products are some examples of what can be seen across these three main areas at the show.

Katy Lam, Director Trade Fairs, Messe Frankfurt Hong Kong, says: "Eco Expo Asia is brand new to Hong Kong and it is the ideal stage to showcase environmental products and services. More and more organizations are realizing the importance of sustainable development, so this is a great opportunity for exhibitors to promote solutions that could help organizations achieve their environmental aims.

"A unique aspect of Eco Expo Asia is that it is open to the general public on 29 October so exhibitors will have the chance to make the public aware of their activities too." Ms Lam added.

Mr Benjamin Chau, Assistant Executive Director of Hong Kong Trade Development Council, echoed with Ms Lam's view, "We realize HKSAR Government's commitment to protecting the environment and are appreciative for support rendered by the EPD in this event. Through this brand new fair, we would like to offer a platform for different business sectors and consumers to get to know more about the ways, technologies, services and products that help to protect our environment. With the concerted efforts from the business sectors and the mass public towards environmental protection, we hope to facilitate to bring a clearer sky, a cleaner environment and fresher air for all."

The fair's programme will include a business matchmaking service, linking exhibitors with visitors to the show. Furthermore, a large-scale 2-day conference will run alongside the fair, which will focus on Asia's foremost environmental challenges - air, water, waste and energy consumption.
