ENVIRON celebrates 15th pan-European WEEE website |
BATH, ENGLAND, May. 23 -/E-Wire/--
Demand for ENVIRON's web systems for managing collection and recycling of business-to-business WEEE across Europe continues to grow. This week ENVIRON celebrated building its 15th WEEE website, taking the total number of companies who have benefited from ENVIRON's WEEE and RoHS compliance services to more than 100. The majority of clients are located in the US, Canada, and Israel, while the remainder are spread across Europe.
According to Dr Aidan Turnbull, Head of ENVIRON's WEEE, RoHS & Eco-Design practice (www.b2bweee.com), "Companies want to use our system because it provides a single contract to manage producer registration, in-country recycling, and compliance reporting in all Member States, and straightforward collection arrangements, which they can communicate to business end-users through their own company website. Our web service also includes consultancy advice on all aspects of the WEEE Directive, including assessment of legal responsibilities for WEEE compliance in different Member States, producer registration timescales and requirements, recycling instructions, and product marking."
ENVIRON's WEEE web systems provide companies with significant business benefits: · Offers a single corporate solution that can be expanded to cover other countries (e.g. US, Canada, Japan, China, Korea, etc.).
· Achieves significant savings over joining compliance schemes in each Member State.
· Includes the option to gain further savings by passing collection costs on to business end-users.
· Presents website address below crossed-out wheelie bin on the product to signpost end-users and treatment facilities to WEEE information.
· Provides flexibility and control of future WEEE recycling arrangements, enabling companies to
o ensure that recyclers continue to provide competitive rates for their services, and
o change recyclers in individual Member States to take advantage of new recycling technologies and techniques.
· Enables companies to gain a competitive advantage with resellers who import into Member States (and who may therefore have a legal responsibility to register as a WEEE producer and provide WEEE collection and recycling).
· Demonstrates to customers that the company is compliant with the WEEE Directive and has addressed its environmental responsibilities. Further details about ENVIRON's WEEE, RoHS, and Eco-Design services and solutions are available at www.b2bweee.com.
